As part of the Ministry or Education’s Seismic Mitigation Program, this project included seismically replacing the at- risk school building dating back to 1922, with a state-of-the-art building on the same site, including a Neighbourhood Learning Centre (NLC). The new two-storey school has a nominal capacity for 340 students.
At the time of completion, the school was the largest mass timber structure in Vancouver. It utilizes CLT walls, floor and roof. The new educational facility is LEED Gold certified and will support B.C.’s new curriculum, with modern and open learning spaces.
