Kootenay Lake General Hospital

This project included the construction of a new emergency ward with a full basement, as well as a renovation to the existing emergency and the addition of a CT Scanner facility. It is concrete and structural steel construction with steel stud and drywall partitions. Finishes include Trespa wall panelling on the interior and exterior, a combination of ceramic, SRS, and vinyl floor coverings, millwork on walls and decorative ceilings.

The new emergency ward is equipped with both decontamination and isolation facilities in case of hazardous materials or patients with unknown diseases as well as a detention room for unruly patients. There is room for up to 16 patients at any time as well as 2 beds dedicated to trauma victims.
