Yellowridge Construction, in partnership with Metro Vancouver Housing, has undertaken the redevelopment of the southwest portion of the housing site located at 15385 99 Avenue Surrey, BC. The new redevelopment provides more rental accommodation in a region greatly in need of affordable housing. The four-storey, 85-unit building is owned and managed by Metro Vancouver Housing Corporation and is open to lower income persons paying rent based upon their income.
The new housing building also include amenities such as a common laundry room on every floor, a community room for social gatherings, outdoor play areas, community gardens, EV charging stations, bike parking, and an underground parkade.
The 7,700 m2 building is constructed of dimensional wood framing which sits atop one level of below grade cast-in-place concrete parkade. Energy efficiency measures on this project include exterior rigid insulation, high-performance vinyl windows, and heat recovery ventilators to meet BC Energy Step Code 4. Exterior finishes will feature cementitious plank siding, cultured stone, and SBS roofing.
